Turkish TV series "have a negative impact" on Russian women, who are losing interest in Russian men.

As reported by Abzats portal, the Veterans of Russia movement has appealed to Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor, as well as through the Russian State Duma and the Ministry of Culture, with a request to work on banning the broadcast of Turkish TV series in the country, said the chairman of this movement Ildar Rezyapov.

According to him, the reason is their negative impact on the perception of the image of a man by Russian women, as well as the demographic consequences of this. Over the past few years, a steady trend has been observed: ladies, having watched enough of such soap operas, begin to lose interest in their gentlemen, expecting unrealistic behavior from them, formed by foreign film productions.

At the same time, domestic TV series often create a directly opposite image: a Russian man is portrayed as an alcoholic, a despot and a loser, while a strong and independent woman is forced to bear the entire burden of family concerns until one day she meets a successful and gallant foreigner.

"Such propaganda is a cultural intervention that contributes to the destruction of the institution of the family and a decrease in the birth rate in Russia. It is important to enshrine in legislation the concept of ‘destructive propaganda’ and clearly spell out which elements in film productions may fall under this term," Rezyapov said.

According to reports, the popularity of Turkish TV series in Russia is indeed growing every year. The most popular series was “Knock on My Door,” the second place went to the 132-episode project “Cranberry Sherbet,” and the top three was rounded out by the show “Bloody Flowers.”
