Katy Perry snatches Labubu toy from fan at Australian concert — video goes viral

16:16, June 25

Katy Perry found herself at the center of attention after dramatically snatching a collectible Labubu toy from a fan’s hands during her Lifetimes tour in Australia.

A TikTok video shows Perry walking through the audience aisle carrying a tray of Tim Tams cookies while performing her heartfelt ballad I’m Still Breathing. At that moment, a fan offers her a box containing a Labubu figure — a popular character from The Monsters series by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung.

Katy Perry knocked a Labubu doll out of a fan's hand during a show in Australia, before offering the audience Tim Tams. Whatever you think about the viral doll there’s no question on how Katie feels - she hates them. Many people have reacted with confusion or anger at the star's reaction to being offered an expensive gift. However, fans were quick to point out that it's an inside joke that she isn’t a fan of the dolls. She definitely doesn’t feel bad as she commented on the TikTok video with devil emojis…

Noticing the toy, Katy looks at it briefly before suddenly knocking it out of the fan’s hands with a swift flick of the microphone. She theatrically shouts, “I’m still breathing — NO LABUBU!” then crouches down to hand out cookies to the crowd, asking everyone to “be gentle.”

The clip quickly went viral, garnering over 157,000 views and sparking a wave of reactions across social media. The fan whose toy was involved even commented: “Oh my god, that’s exactly the Labubu she slapped.”

Katy herself chimed in with a playful comment under the video, featuring three devil emojis.

The reason behind Perry’s surprising reaction to the cult-favorite figure remains unclear. Labubu — a fluffy creature with large eyes first introduced in Kasing Lung’s book — gained global popularity through Pop Mart’s blind box collectible series.

In recent years, the hype around Labubu has surged, driving prices up and fueling reseller profits, which has frustrated many collectors and fans alike.

One viewer joked, “Honestly, Katy from the One Of The Boys era back in 2008 would’ve definitely thrown a tantrum over Labubu.”
