Jacquemus dedicates new Versailles Show to nis roots and family

16:33, June 30

Jacquemus returned to the runway during Paris Fashion Week, unveiling its Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Staying true to tradition, Simon Porte Jacquemus chose a unique venue outside the French capital — this time, the show took place at the legendary Versailles Palace, inside the historic Orangerie, a space long connected to the land and agriculture.

Titled “Le Paysan” (“The Peasant”), the collection is a heartfelt “love letter” to the people and memories that shaped Jacquemus during his childhood. Drawing inspiration from his rural upbringing and family ties, the designer paid homage to his roots and the journey that brought him here.

This season’s womenswear explores his signature silhouettes and forms once again: voluminous dresses in crisp poplin and English tulle, airy aprons, and sheer capes. Many pieces are adorned with delicate details reminiscent of vintage tablecloths and lingerie, while the brand’s signature “J” appears as embroidery.

The collection keeps a timeless palette of whites, beiges, and blacks, with subtle pops of color and standout accessories. Among them: new versions of raffia-woven bags like the Le Turismo and an entirely new model, Le Valerie, named after the designer’s mother. The looks were finished with platform sandals, wedge espadrilles, and slingbacks.
