Dolce & Gabbana turned the runway into a cinematic moment at their latest show, with Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci appearing as Miranda Priestly and Nigel Kipling from Runway just as the audience settled in, Vogue reports.

The collection continued the playful theme introduced in the brand’s men’s line in June, described at the time as “a kind of no-fashion fashion… something more individual, more spontaneous.” Female customers were quick to ask for pajamas inspired by the men’s collection.

But these were no ordinary striped cotton sets. True to D&G’s signature style, pajamas were embroidered with tiny floral bouquets or crystal clusters and layered over lace bras and matching briefs. Striped pajama bottoms were sometimes swapped for black cotton tights, recalling the late-1980s runway moments of Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington.

Other looks were paired with tailored blazers, leather bomber jackets, or cropped brocade jackets that Domenico Dolce described as “like a memory from your grandmother.”

For evening wear, cotton was replaced with black chiffon, complemented by elegant tuxedo jackets. Footwear ranged from skyscraper satin sandals to cozy fuzzy slippers.

“The new generation dresses with less fuss, much more relaxed,” Dolce explained, highlighting the collection’s blend of comfort, glamour, and playful nostalgia.
