If you’re looking for a vacation that’s both thrilling and relaxing, your next destination might just be the world’s most dangerous hotel — provided you don’t mind navigating around sharks and hurricanes, Daily Mail reports.

Frying Pan Tower is located 32 miles off the coast of North Carolina. Originally a U.S. Coast Guard lighthouse station, it has been transformed into a unique getaway for the brave.

The hotel is accessible only by helicopter, with a return flight costing around £2,000. Inside, there are eight bedrooms, one bathroom, and space for up to twelve guests, all enjoying panoramic 360-degree views of the Atlantic Ocean for £460 per weekend.

The 26-meter-high tower was decommissioned in the early 2000s and purchased at auction in 2012 by a private owner for just over £60,000. Since then, volunteers have restored it into modest accommodation — perfect for those looking to disconnect and take in the stunning views.

However, the thrill comes with risk. One of the boldest activities at Frying Pan Tower is shark feeding. Under strict safety protocols, guests can descend from the tower to meet these marine predators face-to-face — at their own risk.

In addition to sharks and storms, the tower lies in the path of frequent hurricanes. Over the years, it has weathered numerous fierce Atlantic storms, leading Architectural Digest in 2016 to ask: “Could this be the most dangerous hotel in the world?”

Despite the hazards, Frying Pan Tower offers several comforts to make stays memorable: fresh linens, towels, cooking supplies, and a homey atmosphere thanks to dedicated volunteers. Evenings can be spent fishing, diving, or cooking together, followed by relaxation in the lounge with endless ocean views. For luxury seekers, a private chef is available.

Built as a lighthouse in 1964, Frying Pan Tower has become one of America’s most talked-about destinations — perfect for thrill-seekers and curious travelers alike.
