Alvina Dzhabrailova, 32, daughter of the late Chechen businessman and former senator Umar Dzhabrailov, spoke candidly in a live social media broadcast about her inheritance, childhood, and complicated relationship with her father.

According to Alvina, she inherited very little from her father, who, she claims, spent his fortune on “Naomi Campbell, parties, yachts” and “trying to impress P. Diddy.” “He gave money left and right, invested millions and billions, including in Chechnya. It’s impressive, but now my inheritance is all I have. I’m an adult now, and it’s my responsibility to sort it out: sell what can be sold, get things in order,” she told Starhit.

Reflecting on her childhood, Alvina admitted that having a rich and famous father was “fun,” but she now realizes that knowing how to provide for herself is far more important than wearing diamonds at six or ten years old. She called her father her “main hero,” whom she adored, but also described him as “the most dangerous person” in her life. “I can love my father and criticize him at the same time. Both realities can exist simultaneously. That’s why it’s so hard to accept that a person can be not only good,” she said.

Alvina also shared that she often lacked her father’s attention and had to learn about him through magazines and online sources. “My father was charismatic, smart, funny. But he also had a dark side—very dangerous. I didn’t know him very well personally, mostly through the media,” she admitted.

Over time, their relationship worsened. “I expected more from him—not money, but attention, involvement. I wanted simple things: for him to be around, spend time with us, do ordinary family things. That didn’t happen. He used substances a lot, and we stopped communicating,” Alvina explained.

She also recalled that her father could be harsh and put her in dangerous situations. “He made me drink alcohol when I was six. There were moments I don’t even want to talk about—God knows what happened. Even though he was bright and fascinating, he had a very dark depth. To me, he was both very smart and very foolish. People often took advantage of him. And in the end, he died terribly—he was killed like a dog. For what?”

Umar Dzhabrailov was found dead on March 2, 2026, in his Moscow apartment. Official reports state he died by suicide; he had previously attempted to take his life in 2020. Dzhabrailov struggled with depression and substance abuse, and in his later years, he lived in debt and without assets.

He is survived by two daughters: Alvina and 36-year-old Danata, both of whom grew up in Europe.
