Psychologist Dr. Carmen Harra has revealed the hidden meanings behind 13 of the most common dreams, ranging from being naked in public to cheating, falling, and feeling unable to move, according to Daily Mail.
Dr. Harra, an American author and psychologist, explained that dreams are rarely meant to be taken literally. Instead, she describes them as symbolic narratives shaped by the subconscious mind.
“Dreams are symbolic narratives. They reflect hidden desires, unresolved fears, suppressed emotions, and the work of the subconscious,” she said.
She emphasized that dreams do not predict the future but instead offer insight into a person’s emotional state and internal struggles. Understanding them, she said, requires paying attention to current life circumstances and feelings.
Dreams of falling often represent a loss of control or fear of failure, typically linked to anxiety around work, relationships, or major life changes.
Falling from a height or standing on the edge of a cliff intensifies this meaning, suggesting heightened risk, pressure, or fear of making the wrong decision.
Dreams about losing teeth are often interpreted as anxiety about appearance, judgment, or self-confidence, rather than any literal omen.
Infidelity dreams, according to Dr. Harra, usually do not indicate real-life cheating. Instead, they reflect emotional insecurity, fear of abandonment, or feeling neglected in a relationship.
Flying symbolizes freedom, confidence, and personal growth when experienced positively. If the dream feels stressful, it may indicate lack of control or emotional overwhelm.
Being pursued in a dream often suggests avoidance — running away from a problem, responsibility, or unresolved emotion in waking life.
This dream reflects vulnerability, exposure, and fear of judgment or embarrassment.
This typically signals anxiety about missed opportunities, pressure, or feeling unable to keep up with life demands.
