A prominent Spanish travel blogger has opened up about his stay at one of the planet's most unique "hotels"—a floating paradise drifting in the Atlantic Ocean somewhere between Florida and Cuba.
Ruben Holgado, a 23-year-old content creator from Barcelona, documented his experience in a detailed video on his YouTube channel, which has already amassed over 896,000 views. The vlogger dubbed the location "the most isolated hotel in the world." He later shared a shorter version of the clip on Instagram, racking up nearly 95,000 likes, and broke down his adventure in an exclusive interview with CreatorZine.

To reach the remote spot, Holgado endured a grueling trek: first, a 10-hour flight from Barcelona to Miami, followed by a five-hour drive down to Key West (the southernmost point of Florida). Only then was he able to cross the water to step aboard a tiny floating house listed on Airbnb as the Tiki Suite.
This unusual "hotel" sits about an hour's boat ride off the coast of Key West, making it completely impossible to reach by swimming. However, the biggest surprise hit the blogger during the booking process. Because the floating hut is officially registered as a "motorized vessel," every guest is legally required to hold a boating license.

The unique getaway does not come cheap: a five-day stay on the water set the influencer back a whopping $3,458. "Swimming there would have been absolutely out of the question, especially since I was traveling with a ton of camera gear, luggage, and fishing equipment," Holgado told CreatorZine.
In his video, Ruben explained that the property's owner—a man known as Captain Chris—sent him a strict checklist of necessary supplies to purchase on land beforehand, along with several stark warnings about the local wildlife.
Captain Chris urgently advised the blogger not to stray too far from the floating home, noting that "this is far from the first time someone has required an emergency rescue in these waters." "He also warned me about the sharks. Key West is famous for its massive shark population, which, honestly, added a real edge and a sense of danger to the whole adventure," Ruben remarked.
At one point during his stay, a tropical storm slammed into the structure. "There was a moment where I seriously started questioning whether staying all by myself in the middle of a raging ocean was a good idea," the blogger recalled, though the weather eventually cleared up without any damage.

Despite its technical status as a "vessel," the Tiki Suite ranks in the top 10% of properties on Airbnb. The listing markets the home as a "peaceful, completely self-sustaining glamping experience that you won't find anywhere else."
Dolphins, manatees, stingrays, and schools of tropical fish regularly drift past the floating home's windows. Yet, inside, the space boasts all the comforts of modern civilization:
A fully functioning air-conditioning system
A designer oak bed
A built-in, hidden TV
In a funny twist, the cabin featured a small DVD collection, including The Shawshank Redemption, Django Unchained, The Aviator, and The Notebook. However, given his current circumstances, Holgado decided the most fitting choice was the final movie in the stack: James Cameron’s Titanic.
Throughout his 31-minute video, the blogger managed to snorkel around shipwrecks, go paddleboarding, and even catch his own fish for dinner. "The experience felt like a mix of total tranquility, adventure, and a little bit of terror. Honestly, a vacation like this is best suited for hardcore thrill-seekers who love unusual spots and want to completely escape civilization for a while," Holgado concluded.
