A Glacier Brought to Life: 9 Animations and the Smallest LV Diamond

The watch dial is a prime example of dynamic storytelling. A built-in jaquemart mechanism (moving automaton figures) powers 9 different animations and 17 moving parts:

• The Landscape: Above the glacier stretches an aventurine glass sky mimicking the Northern Lights, under which a golden compass rose rotates. A shooting star streaks across the sky—represented by a unique 0.05-carat LV Monogram Star cut diamond (the smallest ever created by the House).

• The Inhabitants: The icy expanses are populated by a blue whale, an orca featuring hand-carved white gold teeth, and families of penguins waddling on drifting ice floes.

• The Signature Touch: Tiny Louis Vuitton trunks slowly open and close, revealing Monogram flowers to the world.

Bringing this scene to life required over 300 hours of intricate enamel work (utilizing 32 different shades and 35 separate kiln firings), alongside 160 hours of meticulous hand-engraving.

Mechanical Perfection Under the Hood

Ensuring the flawless operation of this incredible spectacle is the in-house manual-wind caliber LFT AU14.03, consisting of 751 hand-finished components.

In addition to the automaton module, the movement features a tourbillon and a minute repeater, which chimes the hours, quarter-hours, and minutes. To keep the artistic composition of the dial entirely unobstructed, the traditional blued hands used to display the time have been uniquely relocated to the caseback.

Exclusive Styling

The 19mm-thick watch case is adorned with engravings of raindrops and snowflakes. The bezel is set with 60 colored sapphires, diamonds, and tourmalines. The timepiece comes complete with a custom-made white gold chain and a special presentation pouch-bag crafted from blue exotic leather.
