After making her first public appearance with a noticeably growing baby bump, Anne Hathaway has opened up about her third pregnancy.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the 43-year-old actress revealed that while she and her husband, Adam Shulman, had hoped to have another child, they were surprised by how quickly it happened.
"We knew what we were doing, but we were shocked that it actually worked," Hathaway admitted.
The actress jokingly referred to her unborn baby as a "buzzer-beater baby," borrowing the basketball term for a game-winning shot made just before the final buzzer. Host Seth Meyers played along, replying, "You literally made it just under the wire."
Hathaway embraced the surprise with her signature sense of humor.
"It's great. It's just a new character joining our favorite TV show," she said of welcoming a third child into the family.
News of Hathaway's pregnancy first surfaced last month after paparazzi photographed her vacationing in Saint-Tropez with a visible baby bump. She later confirmed the news by sharing a photo of herself on social media, captioning it simply: "Baby, I'm yours."
Hathaway and Shulman have been married since 2012 and are already parents to two sons, 10-year-old Jonathan and 6-year-old Jack.
The Oscar-winning actress has previously spoken candidly about her journey to motherhood, revealing that she experienced fertility struggles while trying to conceive. In an earlier interview, she described that period as "very painful and lonely," adding that many women go through similar experiences.
