Usher has decided to put an end to the wild rumors claiming he allegedly hired a body double or used a clone to perform at his recent concerts.
After fans accused the 47-year-old musician of secretly using a stand-in during concerts as part of his joint Raymond & Brown Tour with Chris Brown, the singer personally responded to the conspiracy theory that went viral on social media in early August.
The wave of absurd accusations arose after footage emerged from Usher's performance at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Friday, August 7. Many users felt that the singer looked strange and "unrecognizable" in the video.
The clips instantly spread across social media. A post on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: "Usher, you're not fooling New York, that's not you bro, I want my money back"—gained over 4 million views.
On TikTok, users massively assured each other that a double had taken the stage, pointing out that the artist's face was partially hidden behind a cap and sunglasses.
On Sunday, August 9, Usher humorously responded to the conspiracy trend by publishing concert footage and screenshots of his comments on the tour's official Instagram account.
Laughing at fans' fantasies, the musician wrote: "Y'all are so funny… a clone? How did y'all even come up with that?"
Adding plenty of laughing emojis to his posts, Usher joked: "AI isn't that advanced yet."
As a reminder, Usher (Usher Raymond IV) and 37-year-old Chris Brown are currently continuing their massive joint North American concert tour, which kicked off in June and runs through December.
