A Billionaire’s Psychedelic Voyage: 77-Year-Old Ray Dalio Goes All Out at the World’s Best Club in Ibiza

23:01, August 12

Ray Dalio, founder of the investment giant Bridgewater Associates, proved that age is just a number. The billionaire, who stepped down from the fund in 2025 and now manages his own family office, celebrated his 77th birthday where the financial guru was least expected to be seen—at a wild party in Ibiza, writes BI.

A Psychedelic Voyage Until Morning

As Dalio himself shared on social media platform X, he had a "great time" with family and friends at the UNVRS mega-club and even recommended the venue to followers "in case you are nearby." Judging by the video published by the billionaire, the celebration was a massive success: acrobats performed stunts under the dome, confetti rained from the ceiling, smoke cannons fired, and the thumping dance music did not stop until deep into the night.

Dalio's birthday fell on Saturday, August 8, meaning he caught the famous elrow party, which bills itself as "a psychedelic adventure of epic proportions." DJs De La Swing and Nic Fanciulli were rocking the decks that night.

Resurrecting a Legend: What is UNVRS?

The venue for the celebration was no accident. The UNVRS club (pronounced "Universe"), which opened in San Rafael in May 2025, is built on legendary grounds:

  • In the 1980s, this venue was known as Ku Club—Grace Jones, James Brown, and Duran Duran performed here, and in 1987, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé performed their anthem "Barcelona" live for the first time.

  • In the 1990s, the club was renamed Privilege and entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest nightclub in the world, spanning 6,500 square meters with a capacity of up to 10,000 people. Following its closure in 2019 and an 80-million-euro mega-renovation, the complex transformed into the world's first self-proclaimed "hyperclub."

The new project retained its giant scale while acquiring three ultra-modern zones: a main arena with projection walls, a secret "Bunker," and even a micro-club called Wild Comet tucked right into the restroom area behind the dance floor. In 2026, UNVRS was named the best club in the world by the authoritative publication DJ Mag.

An Invitation from David Guetta

The billionaire's celebration did not go unnoticed in the electronic music scene. Famous DJ David Guetta, whose residency takes place at the club on Fridays (while Tiësto performs on Mondays), saw Dalio's post and publicly invited him to continue partying at another Ibiza mega-club, Ushuaïa. Whether Dalio took up the offer remains history's secret.

Then again, partying in Ibiza nowadays comes with serious expenses: standard tickets for top parties this August cost anywhere from 65 to 130 euros, a beer runs about 21 dollars, and a bottle of water costs 17 dollars. But for a man with Ray Dalio's net worth, that is perhaps the most modest investment of the evening.
