When US Secretary of State Marco Rubio isn't busy tackling global geopolitical issues, he finds himself waging a fierce war on his own front porch. And the adversary is not a foreign power, but a neighbor's cat.

The politician shared this during a one-hour interview on The Katie Miller Podcast, where he and his wife, Jeanette, discussed a wide range of topics—from their hatred of diets and belief in UFOs to amusing clashes with neighbors.

A Dictator with a Fluffy Tail

As it turns out, the residences of Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth (along with his wife, Jennifer) are neighbors on a military base in the Washington area. And while the officials themselves get along, their pets have launched a full-scale interagency conflict.

The main source of stress for the Secretary of State is the Hegseths' cat, which has claimed Rubio's front porch as its own.

"I come home at night, and this cat is just sitting on my porch, blankly staring at me," Rubio vented. "It has a terrible attitude. It’s an incredibly arrogant cat!"

According to the politician, the brazen pet doesn't even think about running away when a person approaches, the way a normal cat would. Rubio admitted he doesn't even know the name of his furry "enemy."

To be fair, however, the Secretary of State's own pets were the first to cross boundaries—specifically, their two goldendoodles. One of them turned out to be so clever that it figured out how to open doors.

"One day, Pete and his family were sitting at home watching TV (they keep the front door slightly ajar because of the cats)," Rubio laughed. "My dog just walked right into their living room, looked around, realized it was the wrong house, turned around, and calmly walked out."
