Skincare to "The Odyssey": Influencer’s Controversial Video Blows Up TikTok

15:19, August 17

A popular TikTok creator with an audience of over two million (@np.miranda) has sparked fierce online debate. The young beauty blogger decided to combine watching a three-hour film in a crowded movie theater with a full multi-step facial skincare routine.

Beauty Routine Straight in the Dark of the Auditorium

Miranda Wilson posted a viral video filmed during a screening of the movie The Odyssey. In the clip, the blogger showcases an entire arsenal of skincare products:

  1. Pins her hair back with a specialized spa headband right in the theater row.

  2. Wipes her face with a cotton pad soaked in micellar water.

  3. Sprritzes her skin with an exosome spray and applies neck cream targeting "tech neck" wrinkles.

  4. Uses eye cream and applies a damp collagen sheet mask "to seal everything in."

  5. Finishes off with lip balm, then calmly munches on beef jerky washed down with soda.

She captioned the video: "The movie is 3 hours long. Does anyone else bring skincare and snacks to the movies?", calling it "multitasking at its finest."

Wave of Hate: "Peak Influencer Selfishness"

The clip instantly spread across social media, drawing fury from users who accused the girl of a complete lack of basic public etiquette.

Viewers pointed out that using a phone and shining a screen in the pitch-black theater heavily disrupted other people's enjoyment of the film.

Comments included: "I am so tired of influencer culture," "This is wildly rude, if your light was on the whole movie I would’ve gotten you kicked out," and "People are so desperate for attention it's actually scary." Many emphasized that such routines belong at home, not in public spaces.

However, there were also those who defended the blogger, calling her stunt a funny and convenient way to pass the long hours in front of the screen, given the modern Hollywood blockbuster trend toward extended runtimes.
