Officials have announced the tragic death of reigning “Miss Austria” Lucia Sisic. She was just 22 years old.
“It is with immense shock and profound sadness that we learned of the death of our ‘Miss Austria 2024,’ Lucia Sisic,” Mission Austria, the organization behind the Miss and Mister Austria pageants, said in an official statement.
According to Austrian newspaper Die Presse, Sisic remained the reigning beauty queen because no further pageants were held after her victory in 2024.
The official cause of death has not yet been disclosed. However, Lucia had spoken openly about her health struggles. She was born with a congenital heart valve defect and underwent seven major surgeries during her short life.
In August 2024, the model shared an emotional post on Instagram in which she thanked the team of pediatric cardiologists who had saved her life.
