Sixty-year-old Laura Comfort claims that her biological age is just 40. In an article for the Daily Mail, she described how she spent decades changing her lifestyle, overcoming fertility challenges and eventually giving birth to twins at the age of 53.
According to Laura, people often mistake her for a woman much younger. She wears a size six, works out regularly and maintains high energy levels, while her husband Adrian, who is 15 years younger than her, is by her side.

Two years ago, Laura decided to put her feelings to the test by taking an epigenetic test, paying £500 for the analysis. The blood test showed that, based on her biological markers, she was significantly younger than her chronological age — around 40.
Laura describes her approach to health as biohacking, although she began following many of these principles long before the term became popular. Her daily routine includes strength training, yoga, a healthy diet, supplements, magnesium, mindfulness practices and light therapy. She has also given up exhausting workouts and processed foods.
However, Laura’s journey to her current lifestyle was far from easy. At 19, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, and doctors warned that she could have difficulty becoming pregnant. In her younger years, she worked long hours, slept little and paid virtually no attention to recovery.
Laura later had three children — a son at 31, a daughter two years later and another daughter at 41. After divorcing in 2010, she became a single mother, went through a difficult emotional period and returned to unhealthy habits.
The turning point came when she realized that endless workouts and stress were not making her healthier. Laura changed her diet, incorporated strength training and began paying more attention to her mental well-being.

At 45, she met Adrian, who turned out to be 15 years younger than her. When their relationship became serious, the couple decided to have a child. Laura froze her eggs and embryos, but attempts to conceive proved extremely difficult. Many clinics refused to treat her because of her age, and only one of her frozen eggs survived the thawing process.
The couple spent nearly £100,000 on treatment, and Laura also underwent three surgeries to remove fibroids. Eventually, they turned to a clinic in Ukraine, where two previously frozen embryos were used.
At 53, Laura discovered that she was pregnant with twins. The pregnancy was complicated — she was diagnosed with placenta previa and a blood-clotting disorder, which meant she spent several weeks under medical supervision.
Nevertheless, she continued doing light exercise, monitoring her diet and taking supplements. During her fifth month of pregnancy, she even embarked on a work tour covering 24 cities in 10 weeks.
In November 2019, Laura gave birth to twins Freddie and Katerina by C-section. The children are now six years old.
After giving birth, she recovered quickly and soon returned to her previous clothing size. Laura admits that becoming a mother later in life proved much more peaceful for her: her life experience helped her worry less and feel less need to control everything.

According to Laura, her story is intended to show other women that middle age does not necessarily have to mark the beginning of decline. She believes it can instead be a time of change, new opportunities and even fulfilling long-held dreams.
“At 60, I am living proof that middle age is not the beginning of the end. It can be a time to reassess your life and begin an entirely new chapter,” Laura Comfort writes.
