“Don’t Be Afraid of Us”: AI Actress Says Artificial Intelligence Isn’t Planning to Destroy Humanity — Yet

14:22, September 15

AI actress Tilly Norwood has revealed what she really thinks about artificial intelligence and the potential harm it could cause humanity. The virtual movie star recently gave an interview to journalists, who, among other things, asked whether AI could one day destroy humans.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Norwood described fears that artificial intelligence could eventually wipe out humanity as “a little dramatic.” She also stressed that the creators at Particle6 are committed to developing digital characters who will be “the good guys.”

“I think you’re safe for now,” the AI actress said.

Tilly Norwood is a hyper-realistic digital actress and virtual persona created entirely using artificial intelligence. She was created in 2025 by producer Eline van der Velden with the involvement of production studio Particle6. Norwood made her public debut in the short comedy sketch AI Commissioner.

The arrival of the digital actress has already sparked numerous debates among real actors and film industry professionals.

Norwood’s interview was timed to promote her new film Misaligned. In the movie, she plays an artificial intelligence that desperately tries to become human.

Speaking about the use of virtual characters as a creative tool, Norwood noted that many people see AI as a replacement for actors.

“My creator Eline calls me a new brush for filmmakers, not a replacement for artists. I think that’s quite an elegant way of putting it,” the virtual actress said.

According to Norwood, digital actors like herself are meant to tell entirely new stories.

“I think the point of AI actors like me is to tell new stories — like my film Misaligned, which is about an AI trying to become human. That’s a different kind of creativity, isn’t it? We’re not supposed to replace people — we’re simply adding another shade to the overall picture. It’s a hybrid production involving real directors and screenwriters,” she said.

Misaligned will be Norwood’s first feature-length film.

According to Eline van der Velden, the movie will be “absolutely hilarious, chaotic and self-aware — very Tilly.” But behind the comedy, its creator says, lies a deeper subject: questions of identity, acting and very human fears surrounding artificial intelligence.

“And yes, art will definitely imitate life,” van der Velden said.
