When it comes to their daughters’ futures, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian have just one rule.

The 44-year-old tennis star and 43-year-old Reddit co-founder turned the inaugural Athlos LDN26 international meet into a family affair, arriving at London’s StoneX Stadium with their two daughters — Alexis Olympia, whom the family calls Olympia, and Adira River.

Before the event began, Ohanian told reporters that he and Williams have “just one rule in the house” when it comes to their daughters.

“The only rule in our house is that we don’t care what you want to do when you grow up — as long as you try to do it as well as you possibly can and do something useful,” Ohanian told USA Sports on the red carpet outside the stadium.

That evening, Williams was left to look after their younger daughter — Ohanian joked that she had “drawn the short straw.” Meanwhile, their older daughter Olympia was busy with “work” at the event.

“We asked her to interview some of the girls who are coming here,” Ohanian said of his 9-year-old daughter, who could be seen holding a microphone and chatting with Athlos LDN26 competitors.

As for what career Olympia might choose in the future, Ohanian admitted that he has not yet noticed a clear interest in journalism, despite her debut as a young red-carpet correspondent.

“I don’t know. She hasn’t said she wants to be a journalist yet,” the father of two said.

According to Ohanian, Olympia is currently more interested in fashion.

“Right now, fashion designer is the No. 1 profession she’s planning around,” he revealed.

Back in 2020, Williams told PEOPLE that her daughter had shown an interest in fashion from an early age and loved putting together outfits.

Ohanian added with a smile that journalists do not need to worry just yet.

“Your jobs are safe for now, but stay on your toes,” he joked to the USA Sports reporter. The entrepreneur added that Olympia is “heading toward journalism and is definitely going to be successful.”

In addition to her interests in fashion and journalism, Olympia enjoys playing the piano, takes ballet and soccer classes, experiments with virtual-reality games, and takes golf lessons with her father.
