“I Needed to Heal”: Kim Kardashian Reveals Why She Kept Men at a Distance After Kanye West
Kim Kardashian has revealed that she needed to “heal” before starting a relationship with Lewis Hamilton following her painful split from Kanye West.
In an interview with The Times’ Style Magazine, the 45-year-old reality star said that after her high-profile divorce from West in 2021 — aside from her brief romance with Pete Davidson — she was essentially “truly alone for five years.”
The Skims founder described the break from dating as a “beautiful time” because it allowed her to focus on her children and on the projects she genuinely wanted to pursue.
“I really wasn’t in any rush. I didn’t feel empty. I felt like I just needed time,” Kardashian admitted.
After the emotionally difficult breakup with the rapper, she wanted to “fully heal and just work on myself.” The former couple share four children: 13-year-old North, 10-year-old Saint, 8-year-old Chicago and 7-year-old Psalm.
“I wasn’t ready to open myself up. I wasn’t even thinking about it. The universe works in your favor when you just let it do its thing,” the star said.
Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton have known each other since 2014, although their romantic relationship only became public in February 2026.
Since then, the couple has largely kept their relationship private, occasionally giving fans a glimpse into their personal lives through social media.
