Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban have found themselves at the center of romance rumors after both went through high-profile divorces. However, sources close to the stars insist that, despite a longstanding mutual admiration, their connection is more likely to be musical than romantic.

“Jen is constantly being linked to new men, but Keith isn’t her type,” a source familiar with the situation told the Daily Mail.

Lopez, 57, and the 58-year-old Australian country singer first met on American Idol in 2014. Their playful exchanges and apparent mutual chemistry sparked speculation about a possible romance at the time. However, Lopez was dating dancer Casper Smart, while Urban was married to Nicole Kidman.

Now that both stars are single again, rumors of a potential romance have resurfaced. But according to the source, there is little chance their friendship will turn into something more.

“Jen and Keith are good friends. Although they have both recently gone through major breakups, their relationship is strictly professional at the moment,” the insider explained.

Still, there could be a musical sequel to their story. Lopez, who previously described a duet with Urban as a dream of hers, is seriously considering exploring a new musical direction. Inspired by Beyoncé’s country album Cowboy Carter, the singer wants to try her hand at Nashville-style music and has already discussed recording several songs with Urban.

Meanwhile, the personal lives of both stars remain under intense scrutiny. Urban’s divorce from Nicole Kidman after years of marriage reportedly took an emotional toll on the musician. The former couple share two daughters, and sources claim that being separated from his family has been particularly difficult for him.

Lopez, meanwhile, is still looking for love following her split from Ben Affleck. The couple rekindled their romance nearly two decades after their first engagement and married in 2022, before finalizing their divorce in January 2025. The singer was later linked to actor Brett Goldstein, but both denied the rumors.

In May, Lopez admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she had not given up hope of finding the right man.

“One day, I’ll meet someone somewhere, if he’s good enough,” the star said.

According to the source, Lopez genuinely wants to fall in love again, but Keith Urban does not appear to be a contender. A collaboration on country songs, however, could mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her musical career.
