Mark Zuckerberg’s Face After Taking a Sip of Guinness Goes Viral

19:55, October 14

Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg has become the star of a viral video after trying the famous Irish beer Guinness and appearing less than impressed by its taste. Social media users have mocked the Meta founder’s reaction, particularly in light of his recent purchase of a real Irish castle.

The 42-year-old Zuckerberg appeared on Cheeky Pint, a podcast hosted by Stripe co-founder John Collison. Alongside Meta’s head of AI, Alexandr Wang, he discussed the company’s new artificial intelligence model.

At the beginning of the episode, the three participants raised their glasses of dark Irish stout. But after taking a small sip, Zuckerberg immediately grimaced, struggled to swallow the drink and blinked several times. He later pushed his glass farther away, a move that did not escape viewers’ attention.

“Never seen someone try to chew Guinness,” one user joked.

“Zuckerberg trying to enjoy Guinness and failing is one of the funniest things to watch,” another wrote.

A third commenter compared the billionaire to a child: “I’m not a Guinness fan, but I can drink it without looking like a 10-year-old boy trying beer for the first time.”

It seems Zuckerberg still has some getting used to do when it comes to Irish traditions. Last month, he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, purchased Strancally Castle in Ireland.

The three-storey Gothic-style property is located in County Waterford, around 150 kilometres southwest of Dublin. Built in 1827 for an English politician, the castle has undergone extensive renovations by its previous owners in recent decades. The Zuckerberg family bought the property from the Allen-Buckley family. The purchase price has not been disclosed.

The family will continue to live in the United States and use their Irish residence, among other things, during business trips. Meta employs around 1,500 people in Ireland, with Dublin serving as the company’s international headquarters.
