Scientists claim that fat people suffer from depression by 8 percent less, The Telegraph informs.
Based on survey, weighty people are happier than thin ones. The new data reject the older viewpoint that the additional weight brings forth depression.
Doctor David Meyre stated that a modern molecular basis for depression is discovered and 40 percent of depression cases carry hereditary character. In the new study, the scientists examined data of 17,000 DNA samples donated by volunteers from 21 different countries.
The combination, in the particular combinations of the gene, which has already been shown to raise the risk of obesity, was also linked to a lower depression risk. The same link was later identified in three studies.
