These stories, unlike the horror ones, can be true. On why this is happening and in what cases, doctor-sexologist Vrezh Shahramanyan talked to NEWS.am STYLE:

“People often do not distinguish between the concept of ‘virginity’ in the sense of ‘purity’, and virginity as an anatomical term. Each couple decides to be sexually active before marriage or not, in the end of the day, trust me, trust, harmony and fairness in family are founded not on the hymen.

There are about 20 types of hymen, which differ in thickness, location and structure. A girl can lose her virginity with both pain and traces of blood, and without them.

The classical hymen is a thin membrane, partially covering the vaginal opening and located at a depth of 1-3 cm. It can be easily damaged during masturbation, however, the chances of such an absurd defilement are not great.
