The New Wave 2014 international song contest for young performers has wrapped up in Jūrmala, Latvia. Sona Rubenyan, who represented Armenia at the event, came in sixth from among sixteen contestants from thirteen countries.
Georgian representative Nutsa Buzaladze was declared winner of the contest. Armenia’s representative, however, won the contest website’s online voting for the Audience Award. And famous Russian-Armenian pop singer Philipp Kirkorov personally handed this award to Rubenyan in the closing ceremony.
Furthermore, and as a result of the well-known Woman.ru website of Russia’s online voting among its readers, Sona Rubenyan was recognized the best artiste of New Wave 2014.The Russian pop music stars gave a stunning concert in the closing ceremony of the contest.
