Charlotte Le Bon: I am ashamed of not knowing about Armenian Genocide before (PHOTOS)

13:03, September 12

The first screening of “The Promise,” a movie about Armenian Genocide, took place Sunday at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Terry George, actors Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac, and Charlotte Le Bon as well as famous musician Serj Tankian, who is lead singer of the world-renowned American Armenian rock band System of a Down (SOAD) and composer of the soundtrack of this movie, “shone” on the red carpet event for the premiere of “The Promise.”

Isaac was wearing a forget-me-not, the symbol of Armenian Genocide Centennial in 2015, at the first screening of this film.

In “The Promise,” the 37-year-old famous American actor plays the part of the humble Armenian pharmacist, Michael.

And Entertainment Tonight Canada asked Charlotte Le Bon, who plays the heroine in this movie, whether she knew about the Armenian Genocide. The 30-year-old Canadian actress responded:

“Not really, and I am ashamed of it, but the more I read and I got informed about it, the more obviously I thought it was such a horrific story. At the same time I felt I was making a useful movie.”
