Kanye West is known around the world by his nickname Yeezy.
But the Chinese firm Fujian Baby Network Technology Co. has apparently filed to trademark the moniker, TMZ reports citing court documents.
Though West's company obtained the copyright on 'Yeezy' to sell shoes in 2013, they relinquished it for all other clothes last year. After Fujian Baby Network Technology Co. filed to trademark 'Yeezy' for clothes, West's company sprang into action to do the same.
Unfortunately for the rapper, because Fujian Baby Network Technology Co. filed first, the trademark office has given preference to the Chinese company, which wants to use it for the term Yeezy Boost.
Think fast! Kanye West could face legal battle after Chinese clothing company files to trademark 'Yeezy'... though he retains the name for shoes
