Britain’s Got Talent: Vardanyan brothers accused of animal cruelty

12:19, May 30

Although an Armenian act the Vardanyan Brothers has impressed the talent show’s judges, PETA criticised the circus which one of Britain's Got Talent’s semi-final acts used to work for of animal cruelty, The Independent reported.

Back with a bang: Britain's Got Talent finally returns to screens this weekend for its new 2019 season - and episode one certainly isn't without its edge-of-your-seat moments

According to PETA, the Vardanyan Brothers used to work for Circus Sochi, which is known for using animals in its acts.

A source close to the Vardanyan Brothers tells The Independent that the duo would "never condone cruelty to animals and are against the abuse or neglect of any animal”.

Wobbly: As Simon and co watch on, the brothers struggle to connect the swords, shaking and looking as if they will collapse at any moment

"They’d hate for anyone to think otherwise, " the source noted.

Britain’s Got Talent also published a statement refuting any allegations that the Vardanyan brothers mocked the animals.

The TV show final is scheduled for June 2.
