Forbes magazine has published the 17th annual ranking of the most powerful women in the world, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel coming in first place for the tenth year in a row. The European Central Bank head Christine Lagarde takes the second place, as in the 2019 rating.
The third place is given to the newcomer of the rating, future US Vice President Kamala Harris. In total, there are 17 new participants in the new rating.
According to Forbes, this is an illustration of the fact that women are in charge of all spheres in society, which changes under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the magazine notes.
Moreover, Rihanna (69th), Beyonce (72nd), Ava DuVernay (79th), Taylor Swift (82nd), and Reese Witherspoon (92nd) turned out to be on the Forbes list.
