James Cameron's Avatar is once again the highest-grossing film in history, Deadline reported.

2009 Avatar re-released in China on Friday and made nearly $ 9 million by the evening of the next day. Now worldwide fees are $ 2798579794.

Before that, the record belonged to Marvel's Avengers: Endgame.

This year, Avatar became the first foreign film to head the weekend in China. In total, the re-release could bring Disney about $ 58 million, according to distributors' forecasts.

James Cameron and his team are currently working on four new films that will continue the story of Avatar. Avatar 2 is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022, Avatar 3 will be released in December 2024, Avatar 4 in December 2026, and Avatar 5 in December 2028.
