Director Zhao's Nomadland won the Producers Guild of America (PGA) award for the Best Picture, Deadline reported.
One of Nomadland‘s producers Peter Spears said via video, “In a year when we have been living such isolated lives, we were proud to make a movie about community and what connects us… You honor the entire Nomadland company with this award….[including its] community of nomads that taught us about the power of resilience, hope and kindness. So, thank you PGA, for this award. Thank you for your kindness. There’s a line in the film: ‘What’s remembered lives.’ And I speak for my fellow producers when I say we will remember this always.”
