Designed by Virgil Abloh as part of a collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Nike, the Air Force 1 sneakers are up for auction at Sotheby's from January 26 to February 8, The Business of Fashion reported.
The total bet for all pairs is already about $ 6.1 million - although the initial estimate of the total amount was $ 1-3 million. The cost of one sneaker is $60,000 with an estimate of $2,000.
Nike started producing the Air Force 140 years ago. In honor of the anniversary last year, the designer and creative director of Louis Vuitton had a hand in an exclusive model. Abloh used leather with Louis Vuitton monograms and an equally recognizable checkerboard pattern, as well as elements of his own brand Off-White's aesthetic - "AIR" lettering on the sole and signed laces.
Louis Vuitton creative director Virgil Abloh passed away from a rare form of cancer on November 28 aged 41.
