Composer Artur Grigoryan has died at the age of 63 after a long illness. He was born in Yerevan on 31 July, 1958.
He studied at the Yerevan Music School after Tigran Chukhajyan, class of composition, then graduated from the Musical college after Romanos Melikyan.
In 1992 he was appointed chairman of the National Philharmonic Agency of Armenia, until 1994 he conducted the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia. In 1994 he founded the State Song Theater of Armenia and was its artistic director.
Artur Grigoryan has authored a number of songs, children’s musicals, organized events, festivals, pop concerts
He is the author of the Green zone and Artsakh Voices projects.
