Prince Harry sues UK Home

18:00, February 18

The Duke of Sussex has filed a lawsuit against the British Home Office demanding that he be provided with protection from among the British police during his visit with his family for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Daily Mail reported citing lawyers.

The Duke of Sussex's lawyer claims his client wants to bring his wife and children home, but can't go home because it's too dangerous.  At the same time, he is ready to pay for the protection himself.

As is widely known, other individuals who have retired from public service and are at inherent risk of being threatened receive police protection at no cost to them. The UK will always be Prince Harry's home and the place where he wants his wife and children to be safe. With the lack of police protection comes too much personal risk. Prince Harry inherited a security risk at birth, for life. He remains sixth in line to the throne, has served twice in combat in Afghanistan, and in recent years his family has been the subject of well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats, the Duke’s lawyer said.

The first meeting is scheduled for today, February 18.
