Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and Colombian singer Shakira have announced their separation.

"We regret to confirm that we are separating," Pique and Shakira said in a statement. "For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we are asking for respect for their privacy.

"Thank you for your understanding."

The reason for the separation of the couple was the betrayal of the football player. Pique and Shakira have been in a relationship since 2011, while they were not officially married. The couple has two children: Milan (9 years old) and Sasha (6 years old).
