Netflix shows process of creating 'Wednesday,' 'The Addams Family' spinoff series

15:07, November 14

Online movie theater Netflix presented a video about the process of creating the comedy horror series "Wednesday" by Tim Burton. It tells how the costume and set design was invented.

In the story, Wednesday Addams is having trouble adjusting in high school - she has been kicked out of eight institutions in five years. The reason for the latest expulsion was that the girl released piranhas into the school pool. So her parents, Gomez and Morticia, decided to send their daughter to the mysterious Nevermore Academy, where they studied themselves.

The school uniform is made in the style of Beetlejuice - the stripes and the purple and black color scheme refer to it. Wednesday's costume is different - it's in shades of gray and black. Costume designer Colleen Atwood uses this technique to show that the heroine does not fit into the school environment.
