The best African American musicians were announced during the Soul Train Awards held in Las Vegas. The list of winners is published on the official website of the event.
The star of the evening was the singer Beyonce, who received an award in three nominations: " Album of the Year" for her new album "Renaissance," "Song of the Year" for her track "Break My Soul," and "Best Collaboration" for "Make Me Say It Again, Girl," for her collaboration with Ronald Isley.
Nigerian singer Tems was the winner in the "Best New Artist" category, Jazmine Sullivan won the "Best R&B/Soul Female Artist" award, and the Silk Tonic duo won the "Video of the Year" category for the music video of the song "Smokin Out The Window" that was shot in collaboration with Bruno Mars. And in the "Best Dance Performance" category, Lizzo won with the music video of her song "About Damn Time."
