New James Bond contender is named

19:37, November 29

British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is considered as a new contender for the role of James Bond, The Sun reports.

According to sources, the 32-year-old actor participated in auditions for the role of Agent 007 and made a big impression on the producer of "Bondiana" Barbara Broccoli. "Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September, and producers and Barbara loved him. He is now one of the front-runners," insiders noted.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson rose to fame after starring in "Becoming John Lennon" (2009). In 2017, he won a Golden Globe for his role as Ray Marcus in "Nocturnal Animals" (2016). He has also starred in "Angus Thongs and the Perfect Snogging", "Kick-Ass", "Anna Karenina", "Bullet Train" and others.

Other candidates for the role of MI6 agent discussed online still include actors Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy and Regé-Jean Page.

One of the candidates for the role previously called 50-year-old actor Idris Elba, but in August it became known that the actor refused to participate in the shooting of the picture. The reason was the star's busy schedule and his work on his own film franchise.
