French brand Louis Vuitton has announced the opening of a home furnishings and interior design store in Shanghai, Fashion Network reported.
The brand aims to expand the range of products it offers to its Chinese customers. The store is located in a building near Nanjing Road, the city's main shopping street. The boutique opened its doors on Monday, November 28, and will be available to the public by appointment only. Louis Vuitton, the flagship brand of the LVMH group, plans to conduct a trial period for several months before deciding whether the store will be permanent.
A Louis Vuitton employee said the chair designed by the Campana brothers costs more than 700,000 yuan (about 94,000 euros) and the small lamp costs 10,500 yuan.
Reposition itself as a contemporary luxury brand by tapping new avenues that resonate with dynamic Chinese Millennials and Gen Z consumers," the brand analyst said.
