Director Steven Spielberg regretted the consequences of his 1975 film "Jaws", writes BBC.
The filmmaker believes that the horror film about the man-eating shark had a negative impact on the population of these animals. Spielberg fears that the sharks are angry at him "for the feeding frenzy of crazy sword fishermen."
The movie "Jaws" is about a great white shark that attacks people in a U.S. seaside town. Studies have shown that the number of great sharks along the east coast of North America has dropped by 50% since the film premiered. According to experts, Spielberg's horror film distorted people's perceptions: they began to think of sharks as vengeful animals aimed at killing people.
