Gerard Butler burns his face with acid

19:32, January 17

Scottish actor Gerard Butler has revealed that he accidentally burned his face with phosphoric acid during the filming of 'Plane', NME reported.

The actor, who plays the role of pilot Brody Torrance in the new thriller, recounted an incident that happened to him while filming a scene where Butler's character tries to fix the brake before taking off.

According to Butler, he didn't realize what kind of fluid was in front of him on the set. He also added that everything took place on a hot day in Puerto Rico, and the actor was sweating profusely.

The liquid the actor was working with turned out to be phosphoric acid. “It turns out this is essentially phosphoric acid,” he noted. “And the airline pilots that were there watching go, ‘No’,” he told Meyers. “I’m just, like, burning alive…so it was intense. It actually burned for hours, but it was great for the sequence.”
