SKIMS brand founder Kim Kardashian was paid about $1 million to appear at a conference during so-called Hedge Fund Week in Miami, though some attendees smugly felt that appearing at her speech was not worthy of them, Page Six https reported, citing sources.

During the event, Kardashian spoke about her newly formed private equity firm SKKY Partners with her co-founder, industry veteran Jay Sammons.

iConnections CEO Ron Biscardi said he would not comment on financial arrangements with the speakers.

Other sources said Kardashian's fee was less than half a million.
