Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian collects Armenian rugs. He hopes his daughter Olympia will inherit and preserve the rugs.

In an interview with Forbes, Ohanian told how his ancestors were killed by Turkish soldiers during the 1915 Armenian genocide. Three rugs that were part of a family heirloom were confiscated from the family.

"And so all these carpets are for Olympia. And who knows we might have any other children. Knock on wood, this ain’t country Where I plan to escape from. But I know that not everyone has this opportunity", Ohanian said.

Earlier, his wife, Serena Williams, told how she tried to scare Ohanian with a rat during their first meeting in Rome. Recalling the first time she saw her husband-to-be, Williams told Vanity Fair, "This big guy comes and he just plops down at the table next to us, and I'm like, 'Huh! All these tables and he's sitting here?"

Williams and her company tried to get him to move to one of the other empty tables and even told him there was a rat next to him. Alexis, however, was not deterred. Ohanian replied, "I'm from Brooklyn. I see rats all the time," as Serena replied: "Oh, you're not afraid of rats?"

Williams then invited the Reddit founder to her table, and the rest is history.
