Drake shocked his fans on Friday morning when he announced he will be taking a break from his music career. Daily Mail reports, that the 36-year-old Canadian star wants time to rest after suffering from stomach issues.

The hitmaker - born Aubrey Drake Graham - shared the news on his SiriusXM show Table for One.

'I need to focus on my health, first and foremost,' said the star as he tries to control his gastrointestinal issue. 'I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right.

'I've been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. I'ma lock the door on the studio for a little bit. Maybe a year or something ... maybe a little longer.'

Drake has been very busy during his career, putting out nine albums in 13 years.
