Bloomberg’s Wine Expert Elin McCoy has published a selection of the 50 best wines she tasted in 2023 that cost her less than $50. For her “experiment,” McCoy selected 3,243 wines from 21 countries.
“I tried to highlight what is new, at least for myself, but there are familiar brands that always deliver pleasure - and they haven’t even increased their price tag,” the wine expert writes in her article.
The category “For wine fans and those who love the unusual,” along with Portuguese and Slovenian wines, includes the Armenian wine 2019 Van Ardi Estate Red Blend. And this is what the wine expert writes about it: “If you've never tried Armenian wine, you're in for a treat - this estate organic red wine, made by an American who left in 2008 to pursue his dream of owning his own winery. This is a dark, soft blend of Areni, Haghtanak and Milag grapes (get it?) with notes of spice, red fruit and cocoa. $26.”
Elin McCoy called all the wines purchased for review and put on the list of the best “extremely successful purchases,” and she definitely recommends her readers to get familiarized with them.
