A 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT roadster commissioned by former US President Donald Trump went under the hammer at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction for $1.1 million. Thus, it became the most expensive Lamborghini Diablo in the world.
The aforesaid auction house added that the crowd "gave a standing ovation for the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT roadster formerly owned by Donald J. Trump to set a new world auction record."
Trump had ordered this Diablo VT roadster in 1997, which is one of 132 produced for the US between 1997 and 1999. This V12 supercar is finished in Blu Le Mans, which was not officially available in 1997 and was ordered by Trump, making this Diablo one of a kind. “Trump was allowed to custom order this Diablo due to a special relationship with Lamborghini, which lent him some Diablos for promotional purposes.”
Additionally, the custom Diablo features a "Donald Trump 1997 Diablo" plaque on the driver's door, further highlighting Trump's special relationship with Lamborghini.
This stunning Italian supercar is powered by a 5.7-liter V12 engine producing 498 horsepower, mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
