Aaron Taylor-Johnson has "officially been offered the opportunity to play James Bond," ending months of speculation regarding Daniel Craig's successor.
The 33-year-old UK actor has not yet officially accepted the role, but if he does, he will become the seventh actor to play the iconic British secret agent since the franchise launched in 1962.
A recent poll showed that Idris Elba is still the number one choice for the role, despite the fact that he is 51 years old—a bit old for the Bond role—and has already turned down the role to focus on his crime drama Luther.
According to the source, "Bond is Aaron's job if he wants to take it." A formal proposal is pending, and they are awaiting a response.
