Martin Scorsese to host, produce 'Saints' for Fox Nation

15:11, March 28

Martin Scorsese is teaming up with Fox News for a new documentary series. The Oscar-winning filmmaker, who recently received his 16th Oscar nomination for Killers of the Flower Moon, will host and produce Fox Nation's ‘Saints’.

Each episode will explore the lives of a different saint, including Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, and Mary Magdalene. “For most of my life, I lived in the stories of the saints, thinking about their words and actions, imagining the worlds they lived in, the choices they faced, the examples they set,” Scorsese said.

“These are the stories of eight very different men and women, each of whom lived through very different periods of history and tried their best to follow the path of love revealed to them and to us by the words of Jesus in the Gospels. I am so pleased that this project is underway and that I am working with so many reliable and talented employees.”

The series will be directed by Elizabeth Chomko. Also, Scorsese plans to make an 80-minute theatrical film about Jesus to "remove the negative burden of what has been associated with organized religion." The film will be co-written by Kent Jones, who is also a writer on his new Fox series. The first part of these series will be released in November.
