The Macallan, Cirque Du Soleil team up for whiskey tastings, death-defying stunts

16:34, May 3

Mixing whiskey with acrobatics is usually a no-no, but not if The Macallan is involved, writes RobbReport. The Scottish distillery has teamed up with Cirque du Soleil to create a unique theatrical experience featuring delicious whiskey and exciting aerial stunts.

The show will take place on evenings throughout May at the 485-acre Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland. The indoor venue is conveniently located a five-minute walk from the distillery, so you can also check it out before the show. After this experience, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Macallan Bar.

“We invite guests from all over the world to our estate for this immersive experience, offering them the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular performance and a private tasting of Macallan whiskey,” said the distillery’s creative director, Jaume Ferraz.

The show itself tells the story of The Macallan, exploring the spirit of the centuries-old whiskey producer, both literally and figuratively. The storyline and performances are designed to take whiskey lovers on an exciting journey that celebrates the beauty of Scotland and beyond.

One of the standout elements, of course, is the signature tasting. The Macallan says the tape is seamlessly woven into the fabric of the performance, giving guests a truly sensory experience that goes beyond a traditional event.

The Cirque du Soleil Spirit show will take place daily—except Sundays—starting at 8:30pm, from May 9 to 31. Tickets cost £200 (about US$250) per person.
