Within the frames of Sergei Parajanov’s 100th anniversary celebrations, Zara Jian’s docudrama "I Will Revenge This World With Love - S. Parajanov" will have its private screening at the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival (GAIFF). 

The author of the film decides to leave the country where she lives, in connection with the outbreak of the dramatic events, and return home to Armenia in search of a worthy example and solutions on how to live on. Paradjanov’s house becomes a place of inspiration and a point of no return to toxic reality. 

One of the main messages of this film is that regardless of world chaos and geopolitical intrigues, everyone should continue their work without becoming an instrument of toxic reality. Paradjanov’s story proves this truth and his example can inspire and guide today’s artists towards the only winning choice.

Paradjanov was a cosmopolitan. Art should be outside the zone of politics. The documentary tells about things that prevent us today from being cosmopolitans and prevent us from forgiving what cannot be forgiven.

Rulers and regimes change, but the tragedy of Talent’s survival behind the barbed wire of totalitarianism, completely permeated by falsehood, remains the same.

Talking about the life and work of the forever free Paradjanov, researching his poetry, we will draw a parallel with those people whose talent was under the dictates of the government and those

who had to surrender to the regime. Together with them, we will try to find the answers to the riddles

in Paradjanov’s works and his fictional characters.

The director has interviewed a lot of cultural figures, among them: Atom Egoyan (director), Tarsem Singh (director), Emir Kusturica (director), Chulpan Khamatova (actress), Joel Capron (film critic), Ali Khamraev (director), Lora Guerra  (wife & muse of T. Guerra), Levon Abrahamyan (academician), Artavazd Peleshyan (director).
