Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov have announced their divorce. “After ten happy years together, we have made the difficult but amicable decision to separate,” they told fans.
The couple had gotten married in the winter of 2015. The two artists do not have children together, but Eyvazov warmly treats Anna’s son from her marriage to Erwin Schrott.
The two stars of the opera stage were connected not only by family relations, but also by professional ones. They performed together in productions such as Turandot and Tosca. Their creative union, according to the artists themselves, persists despite changes in their personal lives.
“We look forward to the already announced and future joint performances,” Anna and Yusif said in a statement.
It is noted that Eyvazov will maintain contact also with his stepson, whom he raised as his own. “We remain close friends, united by our common love for Thiago,” the artists say.
What caused such an unexpected decision is still unknown. “We will not be making any further comments and thank everyone for respecting our privacy,” they concluded.
